2003 Programs
There were nine international service-learning programs involving
111 undergraduate and graduate students, completing 3-6 credits
each, and cumulatively volunteering 7,500 hours of community service.
Anthropology
Community Health in Tanzania
Students researched topics relevant to community health and social structure
while serving with Nyakahanga Hospital, which houses many important community
health programs (WHO, UNICEF, and African AIDS Control Program). Faculty: Linda

Political Science
Studying International Development through Service-Learning
- the Roma in Bulgaria in an Integrating Europe
Students studied development, European Union Associate Status, and minority

Economic Development of Africa: A Case Study of Ghana
Students discussed theories of economic development and how these apply to
the Ghanaian economy while serving with the Voluntary Workcamps Association

Introduction to Video in Jamaica
Students studied film and social documentary while serving with a youth empowerment

Literature and the Contemporary in Northern Ireland
Students studied contemporary literature of Northern Ireland and served with
