2001 Programs
There were four international service-learning programs that involved
47 undergraduate and graduate students, completing 3-6 credit hours
each, and cumulatively volunteering 3,290 hours of community service.

Travel Journal Writing in Bolivia
Students learned and practiced the art of travel writing while immersed in
the Andean highlands where they helped build an orphanage for Quechua children.

Film Studies
Ireland, Revealed in Ireland
Students learned about social documentary photography as a tool for community
activism by documenting marginalized communities in Dublin and Belfast. Faculty:

Literature of the Americas in Brazil
Students studied American colonial and contemporary literature while immersed
in the Amazon River culture, where they built a computer lab for street children.

International Development Theory and Practice in Peru
Students studied international development theories and practice based on Peru
case studies while immersed in a rural Peruvian village where they helped build
