Volunteer Opportunities for Groups

Amizade offers a variety of group volunteer programs suitable for both small and large groups.  We have over a decade of experience successfully working with high schools, colleges and universities, senior citizen groups, families and numerous community organizations.  Amizade can customize programs for groups ranging from 6 – 30 participants and we offer program fee discounts.

Contact our office (volunteer@amizade.org or 304-293-6049) for more information on  customizing a program for your group.  We will be happy to assist you in matching your interests and abilities to one of our exciting volunteer programs.  There are a total of 13 community sites available in 11 different countries.

Alternative Breaks

Amizade can coordinate volunteer programs during spring, summer, fall and winter academic breaks to meet your Alternative Break goals.  As a member of Break Away, Amizade adheres to the best practices for successful alternative break programming.  With full-time, on-site staff and strong community connections, university and college administrators can be assured of high-quality, safe programs.  Alternative Break programs can be scheduled for 1 week or longer at any of our community partnership locations.

High Schools

Amizade is pleased to offer a range of volunteer opportunities for high school students under the age of 18. Our programs provide unparalleled educational and community service opportunities, along with increased cultural understanding for the global leaders of tomorrow.  Amizade staff members work closely with the school coordinators and chaperones to ensure a safe and quality program for all participants.

We invite you to explore the potential opportunities for your students in areas such as serving the homeless in Washington DC,  rebuilding historic cabins in Montana and tutoring Navajo school children in Arizona.  These domestic sites are in addition to all of our exciting, international opportunities.

Family Programming

Are you planning a vacation or family reunion this summer? If so, Amizade invites you to consider the possibility of a “volunteer vacation.” You may camp and hike near Yellowstone National Park while helping restore and preserve the environment; tour the Andes Mountains or Brazilian Rainforest while building schools and mentoring children; or set off on an African wildlife safari after helping conduct AIDS research in Tanzania. The possibilities for you and your family are endless.
