Familieshttp://www.corrymeela.org/What_we_do/families.html This part of the program provides respite for a wide range of families. The program also supports families in almost any situation, whether they are coping with family breakdown, difficulties with children, the pressures of single parenthood, domestic violence, or the particular problems which arise when a family member is in prison. The program recognizes that each family has individual needs. Parents and children are given the space they need opportunities to take part in a wide range of activities such as arts and crafts, drama and play. The families program is extending to include work with women's groups, men's groups and senior citizens who may need respite. The program's emphasis is based on empowerment, confidence building and informal adult education. "Corrymeela was the first place that I was accepted 'warts and all'. I was made to feel welcomed and involved and even if there were little hurts and that, at the end of the day there was always a big hug."
